Every figure on this line is pulled live from M1 — holdings as of 2026-08-04, margin borrowed $33,887. “Total M1” is the GROSS sum of all 4 account values (Freedom Engine $113,392 + AAPL $61,926 + Parking Spot $44,374 + Personal/Amplifier x3368 $4,582); “net of margin” subtracts the $33,887 borrowed. Neither figure was hand-entered.

Jump to: 📊 If I draw more margin, what happens? 💰 Maximize income + stable growth 📈 What to expect if I make the change 📈 Progress over time (history)

Step 1
Margin guardrail — how much borrow room is left?

You're currently borrowing 29.9% of your investment value. Here's that number against every line that matters — your own guardrail and the two Academy caps:

29.9%
you are here
30%
YOUR guardrail
40%
academy Plex DTA
60%
academy margin-util
0%70%

Your guardrail 30% vs Academy 40% / 60%: the Academy allows a DTA (debt-to-assets) cap of 40% on a Plex and a margin-utilization cap of 60%. Your personal line is tighter and more conservative — 30%.

Headroom: you sit at 29.9%, about 0.1 points below your own 30% guardrail. That's real room to borrow a bit more before you touch your line — and you'd still be far under the Academy's 40% / 60% ceilings. Whether you should use that room is Step 3's question (is the income quality good enough to earn the spread?), not just "is there space?".

Step 1b
If I draw more margin — what happens to my position?

🚩 The constraint is your crash cushion — not your income coverage.

Your dividends cover the interest 6.99× over. Even at the largest draw M1 allows, coverage only falls to 4.18× — the loan would have to reach $118,519 before income coverage even touches the 2.0 guardrail — more than M1 will lend you, so you cannot get there. Income is not what stops you.

What actually moves is how far the market can fall before M1 issues a margin call. That cushion is what a draw spends:

59%31%— how far your portfolio could fall before a margin call, today vs after drawing the full $22,854. In dollars: a $66,592 decline becomes a $35,054 one.
$131to your own 30% debt-to-assets line (unconfirmed — confirm before relying on it)
$2,102to the Academy 50% margin-utilisation cap
$9,299to the Academy 60% cap — the outer posture line
$22,854the most M1 will let you withdraw right now ("Withdraw up to" $56,741 − the $33,887 already borrowed)

Where you stand today (live M1, 2026-08-04)

Portfolio $113,392 · margin loan $33,887 at 5.15% · that is 29.88% of your assets and 47.08% of the borrowing line M1 gives you (M1’s own screen says 47.08% in use — we match it).

Interest costs $145.43/mo ($1,745/yr) against $1,017.29/mo of dividends — coverage 6.99×. M1 scores your margin health 58%; our model says 58.7% — a 0.74pp difference, so the margin-call column below is checked against M1’s own number every run.

How to read a row. Draw = cash withdrawn out of the account. Coverage (DSCR) = monthly dividends ÷ monthly margin interest; the Academy guardrail is 2.0× and anything above that means the income is paying for the debt several times over. Can fall before call = how far the whole portfolio could drop before M1 issues a margin call. Posture = which Academy band the row lands in on the tighter of debt-to-assets / margin-utilisation.

On a leaner income month. The table uses $1,017.29 (2026-07, the latest complete month). A quarter-end month carries quarterly payers, so the leaner 2026-06 month ($1,009.45) is the honest stress case: coverage today would be 6.94× and 4.15× at the maximum draw — still well clear of 2.0×. Dividends would have to collapse to $487.03/mo for the fully-drawn loan to breach the guardrail.

What this model assumes & where every number comes from

Scenario: CASH WITHDRAWAL — drawn margin leaves the account; securities and therefore dividend income are unchanged.

  • Draw is taken as CASH OUT of the account. Securities are untouched, so monthly dividend income does not change. Drawing to REINVEST is a different scenario: M1's 'Invest up to' limit is $71,977, higher than the $56,741 withdraw limit, and dividends would rise with the added shares.
  • Dividend basis = 2026-07 ($1,017.29), the latest COMPLETE month. A conservative basis ($1,009.45, 2026-06 — lowest of the representative months 2026-06, 2026-07) is shown alongside, because a quarter-end month carries quarterly payers and overstates a typical month. Months from the funding ramp are excluded from the conservative basis (interest below 70% of the latest month's) because they describe a much smaller account: 2026-02 (div $25.86, int $1.13); 2026-03 (div $52.33, int $1.95); 2026-04 (div $49.18, int $21.06); 2026-05 (div $764.51, int $91.46).
  • Margin-call distance assumes a UNIFORM decline across all holdings, so the blended maintenance requirement stays constant. In a real drawdown the mix shifts and the requirement moves. This is a model, not a guarantee.
  • The margin rate is M1's current rate and is VARIABLE. Interest figures assume it holds.
  • Interest is computed simple (loan x rate / 12). M1 bills on average daily balance, so a mid-month draw costs less than shown in its first month.
  • Joseph's personal 30% DTA guardrail is shown as a boundary but is UNCONFIRMED: it comes from a stale config (as_of 2026-07-14) that also carries a known-wrong withdraw percentage. Confirm the number with Joseph before relying on it.

Step 2
Reallocate — the ETF shortlist (per the Academy)

The Academy goal for the two working buckets: hold names with the lowest M1 maintenance requirement (lower maintenance = more borrow power = more PLEX leverage) and high distribution yield (that's the cashflow engine). Bedrock leans stability + low maintenance; Cash Flow leans yield. Below is the triangulated shortlist (each figure cross-checked across ≥3 current sources), snapshot as of 2026-07-21. Each ticker is a link — click it for its live data page (StockAnalysis); hover to see the 3 verified sources behind the yield.

Two lists, two different jobs. These are the two PLEX buckets — they do different work, so keep them straight:

Where did these tickers come from? Two layers:

Read this before you buy anything. The "M1 maintenance" column below now shows the REAL, in-account maintenance requirement pulled straight from your M1 login (as of 2026-08-04) — not a category guess. Most of the marginable names sit at 25% (PBDC at 30%). Any ticker that isn't margin-eligible on M1 is removed from the pick tables entirely and listed in the Screened OUT note (a non-marginable holding gives zero PLEX borrow power). Only a ticker M1 doesn't expose keeps an (est) tag. Also avoid FSK (~16% yield but flagged for portfolio deterioration — a classic yield-trap; you already hold it safely in tiny weight inside BIZD).

ETF Universe Sweep — every eligible ETF, one by one

Before picking, we screened the entire marginable-ETF universe one ticker at a time — not a hand-picked shortlist. Here's the funnel:

Reviewed 1,953 ETFs (AUM ≥ $100M) one-by-one → 334 debt/income → 294 yield/expense → 223 volatility/correlation → 197 marginable candidates (81 bedrock, 116 cash-flow).

All 1,953 reviewed tickers — each with the exact drop-reason at whichever gate it fell — are recorded and auditable in data/plex-flow/etf-universe-screen.json (2026-08-04). We don't print all 1,953 rows here; the by-gate summary below shows how many dropped and why at each step.

Last pulled is when the data behind that gate was actually fetched — not when the screen ran. Each gate reads a different feed, so these dates legitimately differ; a gate that draws on more than one feed shows the OLDEST of them — a gate is only as fresh as its stalest input. No gate is shaded: every feed was fetched in the same pass as the screen.

Equal weight — the PLEX tiers define a single primary basis, not a cross-metric weighting, so equal is the honest default.

Metric relationship: Across these 81 bedrock candidates, yield and max-drawdown correlate r = +0.47 — a moderate link — higher yield tends to carry a DEEPER worst-case drawdown. The Income Cushion column surfaces the exceptions (high yield yet shallow drawdown = the most positive cushion). Yield ↔ volatility: r = +0.45 (n = 81). Pearson r computed live over the complete-pair candidates in this group; not a claim.

Marks: within academy threshold  ·  ~ borderline  ·  outside  ·  ? account-only / not verified  ·  no mark = informational (academy sets no numeric threshold).

Criterion thresholds (academy-defined):

Source of truth: data/plex-flow/academy-ticker-framework.json + config/plex-ticker-config.json. Thresholds are academy-defined only; where the academy states none (Expense, Max Drawdown) it is shown informationally and flagged for Joseph — no threshold was invented.

Volatility · Max DD · 3y Return · Beta are 3-year, total-return-adjusted, measured vs SPY (as of 2026-07-18).

Cash-Flow Candidates (116) — yield engine · 7 picked

Ranked by highest yield — Cash Flow. #1 = the biggest income. Basis: config/plex-ticker-config.json → tiers.cash_flow.criteria_priority[0] = yield (tie-break: lower expense ratio). The marked Yield % column is what the rank is measured from.

Best candidate: LQDW — composite score 0.75/1.00 across all four metrics (equal weight). Profile: yield 12.303% · maint 25% · volatility 4.6% · max DD 5.7% · cushion +6.6pp. Composite = min-max normalize each metric across this group, invert the lower-is-better ones (maintenance, volatility, max drawdown), average. Equal weight — the PLEX tiers define a single primary basis, not a cross-metric weighting, so equal is the honest default.

Metric relationship: Across these 116 cash-flow candidates, yield and max-drawdown correlate r = +0.84 — a strong link — higher yield tends to carry a DEEPER worst-case drawdown. The Income Cushion column surfaces the exceptions (high yield yet shallow drawdown = the most positive cushion). Yield ↔ volatility: r = +0.89 (n = 116). Pearson r computed live over the complete-pair candidates in this group; not a claim.

The full universe sweep — all reviewed tickers, verdicts, drop-reasons, and the 197 surviving candidates — is data/plex-flow/etf-universe-screen.json. Built by tools/plex_etf_universe_screen.py (M1 screenFunds + StockAnalysis + yfinance).

The pie move (your Freedom Engine, $113,392):

As built — 64.8/34.2/1.0 — this is the M1 pie sleeve reading: the live dollar split across the sleeves you actually built in M1, as of 2026-08-04. It is one of three labeling schemes on this page; the other two, and why they disagree, are reconciled below.

Bedrock 64.8%Cash Flow 34.2%

Bedrock 64.8% (~$73,478) · Cash Flow 34.2% (~$38,780) · Hedge 1.0% (~$1,134)

Target — 65/34/1:

Bedrock 65%Cash Flow 34%

The move: none needed. The sleeves you built sit at 64.8/34.2/1.0 against a target of 65/34/1 — inside half a point on every sleeve. Nothing to trim.

Reconciliation
The three Bedrock numbers, side by side

Why you will see more than one “Bedrock %” — all of them, reconciled

Three different methods label the same holdings, and they disagree. None of them is a typo. Every page here that prints a bucket percentage says which of these three it is using, and this table is generated from the one shared source those pages read (tools/lib_plex_schemes.py).

M1's own pie sleeves: What Joseph actually told M1 to build. Percentages are the live slice targets and the live dollar split — never the hand-typed slice names, which go stale the moment a target changes. Source: data/m1-holdings-live.json, as of 2026-08-04.

Our per-holding classifier: Re-decides every holding on its own merits and ignores which sleeve it sits in. The Academy config tiers business development companies (BDCs) as cash flow, which is why it disagrees with the pie. Source: data/plex-review/compare-all.json, as of 2026-08-04.

Fynanc Analyzer engine: A third party’s engine reading the same 17 holdings at the same weights. It has a fourth bucket, Other, and its optimizer prints a Cash-Flow target of 20% rather than the Academy’s 34% — so its “target” column is its own, not the Academy’s. Source: data/plex-flow/portfolio-analyzer-snapshot.json, as of 2026-08-04.

The one thing that is NOT a disagreement: a low number in the classifier rows is not evidence the account drifted off target. Measured against the sleeves the owner actually built, the account is within a fraction of a point of its stated Bedrock target. Which labeling scheme should govern is a methodology decision and it is the owner’s to make — this site presents all three rather than picking one silently.

Shaded rows are where the three schemes do not agree. “Fallback, not a rule” means our classifier found no config tier and no matching fund-name keyword, so the holding landed in the cash-flow default — an absence of evidence, not a determination.

Source data suspect: SPYI, BITO came back from the market-data source above the 50% believability cap. Those figures are excluded from every weighted-yield number on this site and are shown here only so the bad reading is visible rather than silently dropped. Do not treat them as the real distribution rate.

Step 3
The spread test — is the income actually working?

Two rules, plainly:

Your dashboard example (Income / Amplifier account): performance 1.19%, dividend yield 14.44%, margin rate 5.15%. Through the rules:

Rule A — performance 1.19% vs yield 14.44%: FAIL  → performance is below yield = NAV erosion (paying out more than it earns).
Rule B — performance 1.19% vs margin 5.15%: FAIL  → performance doesn't cover the debt cost.
Rule B — yield 14.44% vs margin 5.15%: PASS  → the distribution does cover the debt cost.
Overall: WARN — the yield covers the margin, but performance is below both the yield and the margin rate, so the account is eroding NAV. Fix income quality before leaning on this account for more leverage.

Live spread calculator. Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere. Enter an account's numbers and hit Check. Pre-filled with the example above.

Step 4
DSCR by month — is the income covering the interest?

DSCR = monthly dividend income ÷ monthly interest charged. It answers one question: do the dividends your holdings throw off actually cover the interest on the money you borrowed? The Academy guardrail for a Plex is DSCR ≥ 2.0 — dividends should be at least twice the interest bill.

Where the two numbers live in M1: dividends from your holdings → Dividends; interest from your margin loan → Statements (both monthly).

Auto-pulled from your live M1 account (as of 2026-08-04) — the rows below are your REAL monthly dividends and margin interest. Trailing DSCR average: 12.83 vs the 2.0 line. The current month is in-progress (interest is accrued-to-date, so it will keep changing). Add a month by hand below to test a what-if.

Latest DSCR: vs the 2.0 Academy line.

Step 5
Volatility & Portfolio-Analyzer characteristics

These are the Academy's other quality checks — the ones that aren't showing on your current view but should be. The "Your value" column is auto-filled from Fynanc's own Portfolio Analyzer (toolbox.fynanc.com/portfolio-analyzer) — compare each to the Academy line. Rows the analyzer doesn't return keep a "—" with where to read it.

Source of the "Your value" numbers: Fynanc PLEX Portfolio Analyzer (toolbox.fynanc.com/portfolio-analyzer, api/PortfolioAnalysis, public POST) · Fynanc Analyzer — Joseph's full-account approximation, as of 2026-08-04. Grounded on ticker-mentions.json (real held tickers: AAPL, JAAA, JBBB, PBDC, CLOA, QQQI, SCHG) + joseph-m1-inputs.json account weights (AAPL 36.7% single stock + PLEX pie 60.5% + amplifier). NOT exact live per-ticker M1 weights (M1 holdings pull returned no per-ticker breakdown), so weights inside the pie are apportioned to the PLEX target, not measured. The correlation (0.71) reads high because this pie includes your AAPL single-stock sleeve — inside the pure bedrock/cash-flow ETF sleeve it's far lower. Rerun the analyzer on your exact M1 pie for your live figures.

Step 6
Market outlook — what to add to bedrock

George's rule: your bedrock shifts with where you think the market is headed. If you think it's going up, you add growth (appreciation). If you think it'll stay flat or go down, you shift toward income (dividends → better total return).

"Bedrock is about creating stability and having directionally where things are going... if you think it's gonna go up, you put more growth (SCHG and VGT). And if the market's gonna stay flat or go down, then there is no growth — you shift over to income producing... more dividends... better total return."

— George, 07-15 PLEX Community Call @ 1:36:24

In one line: UP → GROWTH (SCHG, VGT)  |  FLAT/DOWN → INCOME (keep QQQI).

Should I increase margin now? — the recurring check

Run this each period. It combines Step 1 (is there headroom to my guardrail?) and Step 3 (is the spread positive with no NAV erosion?):

Right now: Step 1 shows ~0.1 points of headroom to your 30% guardrail, but the Step 3 example is eroding NAV. So the honest answer today is: the room exists, but tighten income quality before using it. This is the check to re-run every period.

Maximize income
💰 Maximize income and keep growth stable — the income-cushion tilt

Your question: “How do we maximize income and maintain stable growth over time?”

The optimizer’s answer is to cut income (weighted yield 10.8% → 9.2%) to buy a smoother ride. That is one lever — but it trades away the very thing that services your leverage. The Academy doctrine: income services the debt; the collateral just has to stay stable enough to avoid a margin call. So the sharper lever is Income Cushion = yield − |worst-case drawdown| — keep the income, and lower the drawdown by swapping your weakest-cushion holdings for the strongest-cushion ones. Below is that analysis, straight from your real holdings and the screened candidate pool.

This is data analysis, not advice. It ranks your holdings and candidates by a single relationship metric plus the Academy’s collateral guardrails. It is a model, not a guarantee and not a recommendation to buy or sell anything — every figure is pulled from your live holdings and the ETF screen (flagged if missing, never guessed). The call is yours.

1. Your 17, ranked by income cushion (weakest first)

Cushion = yield − |max drawdown|. A positive cushion means a year of income more than covers a worst-case drop; a negative one means the drawdown outruns the yield — a drag on stable collateral. The pure hedges (SH / PSQ / TAIL / BITO) are income bleeders by design — keep them tiny.

2. Top candidate adds — high cushion, good collateral

From the 194-name screened pool, the names with the best income cushion that also make stable PLEX collateral — marginable, low M1 maintenance (≤30%), and a shallow drawdown (≤12%). LQDW is the standout: roughly 12% yield at a ~7% drawdown — high income that still holds its value. These are the swap targets for your low-cushion drags.

CandidateYieldMax DDCushionMaintWhy it fits
OMAH14.9%-11.8%+3.1pp25%high income and shallow drawdown

WIW9.1%-8.2%+0.9pp25%high income and shallow drawdown

Filtered for collateral quality, then ranked by yield. A high-yield name with a deep drawdown (e.g. single-stock option-income ETFs at 50%+ yield but 40–70% drawdowns and 60–75% maintenance) is excluded — it looks like income but wrecks the collateral. 3. Keep income, gain stability — the tilt vs the engine

⚖️ The income-cushion tilt vs the engine’s move

PortfolioBlended yieldBlended max DDIncome /yrWhat it does
Current (today)10.8%6.2%$12,296your book as it stands
Engine’s optimized9.2%5.0%$10,384cuts income to buy stability
Income-cushion tilt10.7%5.3%$12,173keeps income, lowers drawdown

DSCR guardrail (≥ 2.0): current ∼12.8 → tilt ∼12.7 — the dividends still cover the interest the 2.0 floor. Plenty of coverage; the leverage stays safe.

✓ The tilt beats the engine on income (10.7% vs 9.2%) at similar stability (5.3% vs 5.0% drawdown) — about $1,789/yr more income than the engine’s move. That is the whole point: you don’t have to give up income to get a smoother ride.

The math (weighted averages, computed this run):
weighted yield = Σ (weight × yield)
weighted max DD = Σ (weight × max DD)
• Current book, holding-level: raw yield 11.2% · raw max DD -18.4%
• Diversification factor = portfolio DD 6.2% ÷ raw DD 18.4% = 0.337 (diversification/correlation shrinks the aggregate drawdown far below the sum of the parts)
• Tilt book, holding-level: raw yield 11.0% · raw max DD -15.8%
• Tilt portfolio DD = raw tilt DD 15.8% × 0.337 = 5.3%
• Tilt yield = current 10.8% + raw delta (-0.1%) = 10.7%
• Income = yield × FE pie $113,392

The concrete move (net-zero to the pie):

Weights move point-for-point so the pie still sums to 100%. This is one modeled tilt among many — the sizes are illustrative, chosen to hold yield near today’s while pulling drawdown toward the engine’s. Your call on the exact sizes.

Read this as analysis, not advice. Every yield and drawdown here is pulled from your live Freedom-Engine holdings and the ETF universe screen (flagged, never guessed, when a figure is missing). Max-drawdown is historical and does not bound future losses; the diversification factor is estimated from your current book and will drift. This is a model of a trade-off — not a guarantee, and not a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Recomputed every run so it always reflects the latest data. The decision is entirely yours.

🔢 The math — how each projected number is derived

Every figure below is computed live from this run’s analyzer snapshot (and the live M1 DSCR file). DIRECT = straight engine output; DERIVED = we compute it (income $ and DSCR scale with the engine’s yield; margin held). Audit each line.

Your Progress Over Time table below looks backward at where you have been. This section looks forward: if you shift your pie toward the analyzer’s recommended allocation, here is what the engine projects will happen — every number below is the analyzer’s own optimized-pie output computed on your real Freedom Engine holdings.

The recommended move: Cashflow 84.2% → 20.0% (−64.2pp); Bedrock 11.8% → 65.0% (+53.2pp); Other 3.2% → 14.6% (+11.3pp).

Expected outcome — today vs the optimized pie. Current is your account as it stands now; Projected is the analyzer’s optimized allocation. Green move = an improvement for that measure.

Risk metrics

Beta
How much a holding moves when the overall stock market moves. Beta 1.0 means it moves with the market; 0.5 means it moves half as much; below that means it is calmer than the market.
Volatility
How bumpy a holding's price is from day to day, shown as a percentage. Lower means steadier; bedrock holdings want low volatility.
Max Drawdown
Maximum peak-to-trough decline in a ticker's price. Check 5-10 year chart for crash survival.
Correlation
How closely a holding moves in step with the S&P 500 stock market. Close to 1.0 means it moves almost exactly like the market; near 0 means it moves on its own, which adds diversification.
3y Return
How much a holding gained or lost, on average per year, over the last three years, including dividends. It is history, not a promise of the future.
Price Stability
The #1 priority criterion for Bedrock tier selection. Low standard deviation of price over time.

Margin & leverage

M1 Maintenance
The percentage of a holding's value that M1 requires you to keep as your own equity when you borrow against it. Lower is safer because you can borrow more without a margin call.
Maintenance Requirement (IMR)
Minimum equity a brokerage requires when using margin. Lower IMR = more margin available. M1: 45%, Schwab: 100%, IB: 25%.
Marginable
A holding that your broker (M1) will let you borrow against. In the PLEX method you can only stack capital on marginable holdings, so a non-marginable one gives you zero borrowing power.
Margin Utilization
How much of your available borrowing power you are actually using, as a percentage. Lower leaves more cushion before a margin call.
Guardrail
The personal safety line you set for how much you are willing to borrow against your portfolio, kept below the broker's limit so a market dip does not force a sale.
Buying Power
The dollar amount you are allowed to borrow against your holdings to buy more. Non-marginable holdings add nothing to it.
DSCR
Debt Service Coverage Ratio. Safety metric measuring whether portfolio income covers debt obligations. Non-negotiable.
DTA
Debt-to-Asset Ratio. Must remain below 40%. Exceeding puts portfolio in margin call danger territory.

Income

Yield Stacking
An advanced PLEX strategy that layers multiple yield sources on the same capital base -- dividends, margin interest arbitrage, appreciation -- to maximize total return per dollar deployed.
Expense Ratio
The yearly fee a fund charges, shown as a percentage of your money in it. Lower means more of the return stays with you.
Distribution
The cash a fund pays out to you, usually monthly or quarterly, from dividends, interest, or option income.
Distribution Frequency
How often a fund pays out its income to holders — monthly, quarterly, weekly, or semi-annual. For a PLEX / leverage strategy, more frequent (monthly) payouts give you cash to service margin interest sooner and to compound faster.
Return of Capital
When part of a fund's payout is really just handing back your own money instead of true earnings, which can quietly shrink the fund's value over time.
NAV Erosion
Gradual decline in Net Asset Value in high-yield funds legally required to distribute earnings. Accepted in Cash Flow tier.
Covered Call
An income strategy where a fund sells the right for someone else to buy its stock at a set price, collecting a fee now in exchange for capping how much it can gain.
Income Cushion
Yield % minus the magnitude of a fund's worst historical drawdown (|Max DD|). It answers: does one year of income cover a worst-case price fall? Positive = a full year of yield more than offsets the deepest drawdown (more resilient); negative = the worst drawdown outran a year of income. It surfaces the exceptions to the usual 'more yield = more drawdown' pattern (high yield yet shallow drawdown).

Structure & buckets

Bedrock (Tier)
The foundation tier of PLEX, comprising minimum 65% of portfolio value. Selected for price stability, low max drawdown, low market correlation.
Cash Flow (Tier)
The income-generating tier of PLEX, comprising 34% of portfolio value. High yield, accepts NAV erosion and higher volatility.
Hedge (Tier)
The protection tier of PLEX, 1% of portfolio. Moves opposite direction. Asymmetric payoff potential.
CLO
Collateralized Loan Obligation — a fund that pools many business loans and pays income from the interest those loans generate.
BDC
Business Development Company — a fund that lends money directly to mid-sized private businesses and passes the interest to you as income.
Senior Loan
A loan that gets paid back before other debts if the borrower runs into trouble, which makes it relatively safer for the lender.
CEF
Closed-End Fund — a fund with a fixed number of shares that trade like a stock, so its market price can sit above or below the value of what it holds.
First-Lien / Senior-Secured
A loan that is first in line to be repaid and is backed by specific collateral, making it one of the safer forms of lending.
Spread
The difference between the yield earned on an investment and the cost of borrowing to fund it. Spread = Investment Yield - LOC Borrowing Rate.
Loan Constant
The annual debt service (principal + interest) expressed as a percentage of the original loan amount. Used to quickly compare borrowing costs across different loan structures. In the Income Amplifier, the 75% loan constant determines the cash flow rate for each cycle.
